Winter
Expect a warm mug of hospitality when you choose a winter vacation in the Shuswap.
Winter sparkles in the Shuswap. We have our geography and elevation to thank for our marvellous winters, powdery snow and moderate temperatures. No deep freeze on fun in these parts.
Our mountains, valleys, meadows and lakefront make the Shuswap an ideal playground for nordic and back country skiing, epic sledding, superb snowshoeing, winter hiking and climbing, sleigh rides and tobogganing.
Shuswap Lake freezes on occasion but outdoor skating can be found on some ponds and outdoor rinks when old man winter plays along. Sometimes, he even lets us ice fish on smaller lakes. What’s more, we’re only 1.5 hours away from three major alpine resorts.
Our hosts are four season too so wether it’s a cozy cabin on the lakeshore, a hillside winter retreat, the comfort of a modern hotel suite or the convenience of a drive-up motel with safe storage for your gear, we’ve got a place for you this winter. Our guides and outfitters are ready too with ski, snowshoe and sled equipment and expertise at your disposal around the region.
