Saddle up in the Shuswap where there’s plenty of horsing year round.

With deep agricultural and ranching roots, the region is home to rodeos and equestrian events, trail rides and sleigh rides, fall fairs and even horse-drawn plays at Caravan Farm Theatre.

Skimikin Lake Equestrian Rec Site and Trails are managed by the EQ Trails Association in partnership with the Province of BC. This recreation site is designed specially for equestrian camping, with corrals and an extensive series of trails surrounding the hills above.

The winter nordic Larch Hills trail system transforms into an equestrian trail destination, with overnight equestrian camping and lodging available in the main chalet. For information on camping and cabin rates visit: skilarchhills.com.

The multi-use Blind Bay White Lake Trail System is most easily accessed by equestrian riders from the White Lake trailhead. Watch for mountain bikers and hikers. csrd.bc.ca or shuswaptrails.com
