The Reel Weekend Film Festival begins this Friday, November 3 with an Opening Night Celebration featuring the film Lost in Paris. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a bit of France. It all begins when the doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Join the Shuswap Theatre for their production of Romeo and Juliet, full of passion, revenge, and heartfelt desperation, our presentation of this classic, melding Elizabethan and more modern design elements, will appeal to Shakespeare fans and newbies alike.

Caravan Farm Theatre presents its Annual Walk of Terror, the ORIGINAL Okanagan Halloween Theatrical Extravaganza, on Saturday, October 28th. Take the walk -- if you dare! -- between 6:30 and 8 pm. Then dance the night away!

Join Harpur Farms for Halloweekend October 28 & 29, for pumpkin carving and decorating, and haunted hayrides.

The Salmon Are Coming! Adams River Salmon Run

This year is a pre-dominant run so there will not be as many fish expected to arrive as in the dominant year which will be in 2018.  The trails are still lovely to walk with interpretive signs along the way and you will still be able to see salmon as they wind their way up the Adams River.  This year the Adams River Salmon Society will be hosting some interpretive walks (by donation) on the following dates:

Shuswap Happenings September 21-27

The 12th annual Fungi Festival is September 21st-24th.  This long-running community event centres around the myriad species of fungi found in the rich ecological Shuswap region.  Mushroom biologist will be leading walks and talks, to teach more about the various species of fungi found in the area.  It is not unusual for new species to be identified during the festival.  Mushroom themed food classes, crafts and art will be incorporated into this unique and flavorful event.
