Big Foot Valentine’s Trail Event on White Lake in 2 Parts

Big Foot Valentine’s Trail Event on White Lake in 2 Parts

The Shuswap, British Columbia – The next Shuswap Bigfoot Winter Trail event steps out next Tuesday, February 14th with a Valentine’s 2 part after school special featuring White Lake thanks to local White Lake Shuswap Trail stewards and the Winter JCP Trails Team. . .
Part One: (Call to Reserve) 3-5 pm
Snowshoe tour of the White Lake Ecosystem.  Join local naturalist Trish Wallensteen as she shares her love for both the forest and the lake.  Tromp through the woods and around the edge of the lake, and see the world from a new perspective. Meet at the John Evdokimoff (White Lake) Bike Park.

John’s Ski Shack will have a limited supply of snowshoes on hand for people to demo.  Call to reserve:  (250-832-3457).  Rentals are also available at Skookum Cycle and Ski (250-832-7368) who together with Atlas Snowshoes have sponsored the Winter JCP Trails Team.
Call 250-835-8766 to reserve a space on this special tour.  Due to the potential impact on this delicate lake ecosystem, space is limited.
Part Two: (Drop In) 5-8 pm
Magic on the Lake.  The fire will be warm and the hot chocolate delicious.  Join the locals for an evening on Little White Lake, with skating, skiing and snowshoeing.  The skating rink in front of the Massey yard (East end of Little White Lake) will be lit, and a lantern-lit trail will guide you around a 2km ski or snowshoe track.  Bring your headlamp and hot dogs, and make Valentine memories on Little White Lake! (Weather permitting, of course!)

Parking: John Evdokimoff Bike Park, and (carefully) cross the road down to the lake.

Bring your own hot dogs and buns (fixings provided) to cook over the fire by the skating rink.  Other snacks and contributions welcome  Remember chairs and musical instruments to share by the fire.

These events are hosted by the newly formed Shuswap Trail Alliance White Lake Trail Stewardship Group (STAWLTSG!!).  Donations to the Shuswap Trail Alliance gratefully accepted!

White Lake Event sponsors:  Natural Habitat Gardens; Massey Cabinetry; Shuswap Trail Alliance; John’s Ski Shack;

The Winter JCP Trails Project is funded by the Canada British Columbia Labour Market Agreement, and sponsored by Skookum Cycle and Ski and Atlas Snowshoes
