Salmon Arm Pride Project
October 14 - October 18
This fall, the Salmon Arm Arts Centre is partnering with local Pride groups and First United to present an inaugural 4-day festival celebrating the LGBTQ2S+ community through the arts. Everyone is welcome to learn more about ourselves, family members and friends who identify as LGBTQ2S+, and to seek connection and creativity through the exhibition and online activities throughout the weekend.
The Foreplay Team: August 2020 to October 2021
Consultation, education, presentations to businesses and organizations to help further understanding, awareness and the creation of safe space in Salmon Arm, specifically the downtown area.
PRIDE! the exhibition October 14 to 17, 2020: A 4-day visual art exhibition featuring individual and collaborative works designed to inspire knowledge, encourage understanding, and challenge our ideas. Paintings, drawings, film and mixed media will be featured. Gallery open 11am to 4pm each day.
Pride Pop-Up Shop October 14 to 17, 2020: Popping up at 121 Shuswap Street, this is your opportunity to buy all things Pride! LGBTQ2S+ makers are encouraged to contact Kate at email@example.com if you have products to feature. Buyers can browse and support the makers and the project from 11am to 5pm each day, open til 7pm on Friday.
Daily Pride Episodes: Watch for daily online releases with educational panels, storytelling and a special Family Saturdays @ Home on October 17, featuring Kelowna drag queen Freida Whales with a story and art project for kids.
Sunday, October 18, 2020: First United presents a special service streamed live at 11am.
