The 3rd annual Slow Food Thompson Okanagan Market of Taste is this Sunday, May 24th from 12-4pm. 

The Market of Taste is an event that showcases the amazing local flavours of our region with local food samples, cooking demos and farm tours.  This event is a

collaboration between Davison Orchards and Slow Food Thompson Okanagan.

Word on the Lake Writing Contest

 The results are in, and the winners of the Askew’s Foods’ Word on the Lake Writing Contest are as follows:

For Poetry: Caroline Miege from Tappen, BC placed first.  Patricia Smekal from Nanoose Bay, BC received an Honourable Mention.

For Fiction: Katie Marti from Revelstoke, BC placed first.  Shawn L. Bird from Salmon Arm BC received an Honourable Mention.

R.J. Haney Heritage Village Opens for the Season May 13

R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum, located at 751 Highway 97 B Salmon Arm, opens for the season Wednesday May 13. The Village & Museum are open Wednesday thru Sunday from 10:00am-5:00pm and in July and August are open 7 days a week. General admission is by donation.

#BecauseArt opens at Art Gallery on May 1

Salmon Arm Art Gallery is pleased to present #BecauseArt, the bi-annual multi-media youth exhibition featuring work by over 75 artists aged 15 to 25.  The exhibition opens on Friday, May 1 at 7pm, and continues to May 30. Sponsored by Vicki Green, an enthusiastic supporter of youth programs, the opening will feature live music by Ken Kosowick, and wonderful refreshments. Everyone is welcome to attend.
