Wednesday On the Wharf will kick off on June 14 in Salmon Arm

Shuswap District Arts Council is pleased to present the 24th annual Wednesday On the Wharf summer concert series. This much beloved open-air live music series features bands from the Shuswap and beyond each Wednesday beginning at 6:45pm at Marine Park. It’s a family BYOBlanket and picnic event, with lots of dancing. Admission is by donation.

In this sesquicentennial year, the Arts Council took the opportunity to update the management structure of WOW. The board is pleased to announce that Tori Jewell is the 2017 Artistic Director, and has done a fabulous job creating a balanced lineup of excellent local favourites and new touring bands. Tori graduated from Capilano University with a diploma for Arts and Entertainment Management. She’s been working with Roots & Blues for many years, and brings with her an exceptional knowledge of the music industry.

To launch the 2017 season, the traditional kick-off is the Jackson Jazz and Concert Bands, with favourite conductor Brian Pratt-Johnson, on June 14. Following that, watch for the Margit Sky Project, Crown the Guilty, Declan O’Donovan, Chicken-Like Birds, Marina & the Specks, No Mothers, Devon Coyote, Hanne Kah, Seal Skull Hammer, Twin Peaks and Eryn Robertson. The season finale will be the Salmon Armenians on August 30.

It is with gratitude that we acknowledge WOW’s season sponsors, those who step up to the plate early and help with planning this excellent community event: SASCU, Salmar Community Association, Prestige Inn and EZ Rock.
