Bottom Shelf Bourbon Trio at Lorenzo's Cafe
Between the high, lonesome sound of bluegrass and the low-down grit and growl of the blues, with just a touch of 1920s swing and 1980s punk is The Bottom Shelf Bourbon Trio making their own take on roots music. Their forthcoming full-length album is a collection of songs on such universal themes as substance use and infidelity, blue collar angst and unrequited love, of leaving forever and coming back again. Their genre bending style incorporates influences ranging from The Devil Makes Three, Doc Watson, Big Bill Broonzy, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Wills and 1930s jug bands.
The Bottom Shelf Bourbon Trio have been nominated for Best Bluegrass Group at the first annual Whammy's and have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with bands such as The Devil in the Woodshack, Percheron, The Still Spirits, The Give 'em Hell Boys, and The Burying Ground.
