North Fork Wild, Sicamous
North Fork Wild
The North Fork Wild was donated to the CSRD in 2012. It is a spectacular 51.42 acres bordering the North Fork of the Perry River - a river carrying melt water from upstream glaciers. This property is east of Craigallachie and adjacent to both the Perry River Forest Service Road and Avoca Road West. Since the early 1970s, Mr. Peter Jennings along with his lifelong friend Mr. Gerald King, invested countless hours and exhaustive efforts into the property surveying, mapping and developing an impressive network of trails that wind through the land's intact primary cedar and hemlock forests. The well planned trails within the are a natural phenomenon, including sandy beaches, creeks, sloughs, and the inspiring Lower Perry River Canyon. Furthermore, Mr. Jennings compiled a detailed account of his observations on the property, including nearly 40 years of natural, historical and cultural observations. The property is currently in phase one of devopment and is expected to be open to the public in the Summer of 2014.
