Enderby Arts Festival
The Enderby and District Arts Council presents its 8th annual ENDERBY ARTS FESTIVAL, a FREE family friendly street festival of markets, music and art on Saturday, July 29th, 2017, 9am-4pm.
The outdoor Artisan Market features over 40 vendors offering a wide variety of handcrafted items for sale. In front of the Library the Grant Russell Entertainment Stage will present a variety of musical and other acts all day. African drummer David Thiaw will be performing. Other acts will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.
Food is a big part of any festival. There will be a Food Court on Cliff Ave, the Lions Pancake Breakfast on Belvedere Street followed by the Legion Burger BBQ, plus offerings by Enderby's many fine restaurants.
Again this year, the Enderby & District Community Resource Society is organizing and running the Family Fun Zone in Belvidere Park (beside the bridge) 9:30-3:30, which provides activities for children including face painting, games, clowns, African drumming with David Thiaw, bouncy castle, and mini goat petting zoo(note time: 10-3). A large tent will shelter performers, audience, and activity participants from the elements.
The Quilt Show by the Enderby Cliff Quilters returns to the Arts Council meeting room at 617Ciff Ave. In a tent outside the office they will offer items for sale and raffle tickets. Experience the work of a talented group or local artists at the Courtyard Gallery on Belvedere Street.
The Festival winds up with Music by the River on Sunday, July 30, 7 p.m. Belvidere Park (by the bridge). RAIN OR SHINE. (Enderby Drill Hall on Hwy 97A will be the rain venue). Popular & energetic chanteuse Sabrina Weeks and her band Swing Cat Bounce will entertain and get you dancing.
