Falkland Area

Falkland, BC is a quiet rural settlement of about 600 residents situated near Highway 97‚ halfway between Kamloops and Vernon. The area is also home to the small communities of Deep Creek, Ranchero, Salmon Valley, Silver Creek, and Gardom Lake. The Falklands are recognized as a ranching community, but forestry, small business and the exceptional retirement amenities are all part of the region's story. For some, Falkland is a bedroom community to Vernon and Kamloops; a safe place to raise children in a caring environment. For others it is a haven from the larger surrounding urban areas!

Drive from Salmon Arm to Falkland through the scenic Salmon Valley where you will discover a peaceful rural setting. Stop at the small community of Silver Creek to explore its interesting heritage buildings and displays. Another route is south of Salmon Arm on Highway 97B through Ranchero and west to Gardom Lake, an ideal spot for fishing and picnicking for the whole family. Or drive further south on Highway 97B and take the Deep Creek Road through another scenic area where dairy farming is fast becoming the main economy.
